Arete Partnership Da Vinci Decathlon
Students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 showcased outstanding academic creativity and problem-solving skills at Gordon’s School, with Robert May’s School securing first place.
Yesterday, a selected group of Year 8 and Year 10 students represented Robert May’s School at Gordon’s School to compete in the prestigious Da Vinci Decathlon. Organised as part of the Arete Partnership of Schools initiative, the event is specifically designed to stretch, inspire, and challenge high-attaining students through a series of rigorous collaborative and creative academic disciplines.
The competition tests students across a broad spectrum of subjects, encouraging them to apply critical thinking and teamwork under time constraints.
The day was split into three engaging and intensive parts:
- Part 1: Interdisciplinary Team Challenges
- Team-based problem-solving across creative thinking, code breaking, English, science, and ideation.
- Part 2: Subject-Specific Academic Papers
- Papers focused on art, poetry, engineering, and mathematics.
- Part 3: The Legacy Paper
- Completion of the prestigious Legacy Paper, drawing together skills and insights from the day.
