Year 8 Battlefields Trip: Reflection & Respect

Our Year 8 pupils have recently returned from a sun-drenched, deeply moving history trip exploring the WWI trenches, cemeteries, and memorials in Belgium and France.

Throughout the visit—which included stops at Tyne Cot, Langemark, and the Thiepval Memorial—students demonstrated exceptional maturity and respect. A particularly memorable highlight for the group was participating in the nightly Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate.

Alongside their historical study, pupils also enjoyed some well-earned time visiting a traditional Belgian chocolate shop!

We extend a huge congratulations to all Year 8 students involved for acting as exemplary ambassadors for Robert May's School.
