Year 10 Climbing Trip to the Peak District

Peak District Adventure: Year 10 PE Climbing Assessments

Last weekend, a cohort of our Year 10 PE students traveled to the Peak District to undertake their practical climbing assessments. 

The trip provided an exceptional, hands-on opportunity for the students to transfer the skills they have practiced in controlled indoor environments onto challenging, real-world rock faces. Under the guidance of expert instructors, they were assessed on a variety of technical climbing movements, safety protocols, and knot-tying.

Beyond the physical grading, the trip was a fantastic exercise in personal development. Our students spent the weekend immersed in nature, working closely in pairs and small groups to develop vital teamwork, trust, and communication skills as they belayed and encouraged one another.
