Junior Maths Challenge 2026
Phenomenal Results in the Junior Maths Challenge 2026
We are delighted to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our Year 7 and 8 students who recently took part in the nationwide Junior Maths Challenge. Out of 170 RMS students who entered, an incredible 90 certificates were awarded, demonstrating the high level of mathematical talent within the lower school.
In total, our students brought home:
- 49 Bronze Awards
- 31 Silver Awards
- 10 Gold Awards
Of the 10 students who achieved coveted Gold awards, 5 have successfully qualified for the Junior Kangaroo follow-on round. This is an elite tier of the competition that only a very small proportion of students across the country manage to reach.
A special mention goes to Effie M in Year 7, who claimed the title of 'Best in School'.
Huge congratulations to Effie and to our other brilliant Junior Kangaroo qualifiers: Riley S (Year 7), Alexander D (Best in Year 8), Arianne I (Year 8), and Naysim J (Year 8).
Thank you to the Maths Department for coordinating the challenge, and well done to all 170 participants for representing Robert May's School so brilliantly!
