Teacher Training Programme – Information Evening: Thursday 11 May
You may remember that Robert May’s is a partner school in The Hampshire LEARN SCITT Partnership, an initial teacher training provider. Some past pupils from partner schools have already trained with us and are now in teaching posts in Hampshire. Other past pupils are on our current training programme and will be qualified teachers at the end of this academic year.
We are offering training places for secondary English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Music, Design & Technology and RE in 2017-2018. This is an exciting training route for graduates who want to be part of a school team from day one. They will be training with knowledgeable and enthusiastic teachers, committed to education and leaders in their own fields.
We are recruiting:
- those in their final year at university
- those with degrees of 2.2 and above
- mature applicants with degrees who have decided to become teachers after working for at least three years in another occupation
Those completing the course successfully will be awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE.
Ofsted has rated The Hampshire LEARN SCITT Partnership as Outstanding in every category (November 2016):
“This is outstanding provision. At every level and in every way, highly effective leaders have created a teacher training programme which regularly produces extremely proficient teachers who ‘hit the ground running’ when they begin their careers as NQTs.”
There will be an information event at Robert May’s on Thursday 11 May from 6.00 – 7.00 pm in the library. If your son or daughter is planning to train to be a secondary school teacher, we would be delighted to speak to him or her.
